Spoilers in here!!
Just in case you read forums before playing a game:rolleyes:
Anyway. Jack figures out Fontaine is controlling him with key phrases right?
So why not just stamp on the blasted radio? Or just cover his ears and go "lalalalalala!!"
A big set of ear muffs would do the trick.
On another totally different note. Why with chamo skin can you change a huge gas canister on the chemical launcher without being spotted but when you press a tiny button on a camera you get seen instantly.

The game, and it's storyline are stupid. Don't blame the character, blame the creators.

Inconsistencies and points of non-realism exist in all video games ... Take Farcry for example, rife with ridiculous things.
But we live with them, because a few little inconsistencies aren't enough to spoil an entire game.

Rapture is full of announcement-speakers. Fontaine might aswell use these...so no point in smashing the radio

If you think it's stupid, why are you on the games forums months after release? XP

See? Ryan is stupid, too.

If he smashed the radio he wouldn't be able to talk to Tenenbaum and Atlas! <D>
Still, storyline must be taken into account.

Depends ... Surely if he was programmed rigourosly enough that wouldn't work?
I don't know ... I'm no expert on programming people ... but I would presume such simple logic wouldn't work.
This whole thread is pretty silly, close nao kthxbi.

I think that would make Jack's brain explode.

That would actually be a pretty cool plot point.
I wouldn't mind it in the game.
Jack attempting independence, but alas, it doesn't work!

You guys are right, the plot in Bioshock is more than the dumb.
This is the game written by the geniuses of video games:

Remember the beginning when he says "Would you kindly pick up that shortwave radio?". I am assuming jack can not put it down after that.

I thought that after Tenenbaum's treatment, nothing that Fontaine said could hurt him anymore. Wasn't he injuring Jack remotely? I could be wrong, but I didn't think Fontaine's words were hurting him anymore. Besides, StevetheBigDaddy is right: he needed the radio to keep in contact with Tenenbaum.
Also...he was trying to FIND Fontaine, and all his taunts were just leading him closer.

Hmm, something I didn't think about.
Besides, StevetheBigDaddy is right: he needed the radio to keep in contact with Tenenbaum.
I find it further supported by the fact Tenenbaum helped him find the Lot 192. Where would Jack be if he was just wandering Rapture for an unknown cure?

By whom? You? And why? Just because you don't find anything useful in here doesn't mean someone else won't.
