You can try the beta drivers at: this link (http://www.nvidia.com/Download/betadrivers.aspx?lang=en-us). Also if you're overclocking *anything* try to use stock speeds. (If you have an Asus motherboard this includes setting PEG Link in the BIOS to 'Slow').

Uninstall and reinstall your nvidia drivers. If it keeps happening, then there is a good chance there is an issue with your videocard and you will need to return it.

A bit of googling has uncovered this Microsoft KB: Linky (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929777). It says it's for people who can't even get Vista installed with > 3GB RAM. *BUT* I've been googling for about 1/2 hour now and most of the pages that end up linking to this KB say it's needed even if you don't BSOD on boot *and* especially if you have a Creative X-FI soundcard. So it could help you. The KB definately patches Vista for > 3GB memory and since you have 4GB I would definately recommend checking it out.

That link has nothing to do with his issue. The issue is the nvidia display driver (nv4_disp.dll). That is simply a KB article about a stop code error when installing Vista with more than 3GB of RAM. He's not having an issue with an installation. The nvidia display driver is causing the stop code error which is generally due to either a driver/s issue or an issue with the actual hardware (in this case an 8800GTS.)

That's why I googled and googled more before finally posting it. Pages that link to it say it improves all sorts of BSOD's for Vista users with > 3GB RAM. Especially for people with X-FI soundcards. BSOD'ding on boot is it's specific purpose for the KB but it may help him too.
To quote a random post off teh intarweb:
"Note that source of that problem isn't really Vista or the memory: it's the crappy drive controller only being capable of 32bit DMA that's the real problem -- it blows up when it sees addresses >2GB, which means it would blow up on XP with the /3GB switch as well."
That's why people with X-FI soundcards are hit especially hard with this issue: Their driver has an assumption that there will always be <=2GB memory.

That isn't even the same stop code so that wouldn't relate to his problem anyway.
OP's Stop code:
Page_fault_in_nonpaged_area
STOP 0X0000050(0XEDIAC940,0X00000000,0XBFD5B784,0X00000 01)
KB article Stop code:
STOP 0x0000000A (parameter1, parameter2, parameter3, parameter4)
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
Simply looking at the two stop codes is a DEAD GIVEAWAY that they are not related. Honestly what the hell did you even use for your search??
The OP's stop code error is a driver issue (hence the .dll (or dynamic link library) given)) that caused a "page fault"
The KB article code error is an IRQ (interrupt request) based error.
They have nothing whatsoever to do with each other. As a system builder for over a decade I've seen numerous errors and had to fix numerous errors related to drivers and/or hardware and I've seen the stop code error the OP has received on several occassions and each time it has been either the driver at fault or the hardware. The link you gave is a good one for people experiencing the issue/s related to that article and the examples you provided, but it has absolutely nothing to do wit hthe OPs issue in any way.

Hello,
The problem you have is in relation to your videocard drivers.
You can try the latest nvidia drivers from here:
http://www.nvidia.com/Download/betadrivers.aspx?lang=en-us
You can also try the latest version of directx from here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=2da43d38-db71-4c1b-bc6a-9b6652cd92a3&DisplayLang=en
Try uninstalling your original nvidia drivers first before installing the new drivers if possible as this may help with your problem.

Also what makes you think the OP has an X-fi card? He/she may very well have one but they didn't state that nor was it listed in the specs given that I could see. They may be using onboard audio.

That may be the case but you are straying from the actual issue
nv4disp.dll is most definately related to the videocard drivers.
In the meantime it may be worthwhile waiting until the op has an answer to the troubleshooting we have advised before continuing further.
