On a later level in Bioshock my game began to freeze up for about 2 seconds during heavy action. Its basically unplayable at this point because when it unfreezes all the action 'catches up' and i have no clue what happened while i was frozen (usually i die).

Does anybody know how to fix this? will the new patch fix this problem?
i checked my disk and it is scratch free by the way.

If you've installed the patches for the 360 the cache may be the culprit. To clear the cache hold down the left and right bumpers while the game is booting up (e.g. until you see logos).

After the 2k logo appears, the relevent post can be found here (http://forums.2kgames.com/forums/showpost.php?p=167755&postcount=15).

wow. thanks man.

2k i know its hard to put together a game like this without something fouling up, but come on. Dont add to the 360's already terrible reputation of shoddy development, bad hardware and poor quality response.

do it right damn it!

Thank you yet again. the cache dump seemed to have worked. I can now complete the game somewhat comforatbly.

Don't get too mad at irrational or 2k. I have had other games do this as well, the worst being Oblivion. I am by no means a electronic genius but it seems like more of a problem with the way the hardware is designed then anything. Still though clearing the cache is easy enough, so no big deal.

Yes.

The issue lies with cache files becoming corrupt. Anything that may be left on the drive that optimizes load times or gameplay can and sometimes will corrupt. This problem is not specific to 2k Games this happens with a wide range of games from other companies that utilize the HDD in this manner.
