Hey guys,
There will be a small update for the 360 coming within the next couple hours (give or take a few.) It fixes some hitching and pausing issues and addresses ragdoll physics anomalies (wiggling limbs).

great..now my friend can stop complaining about his only gameplay issue (wiggling limbs), while I still can't play at all. Woohoo!
Nice to see that 2K has been hard at work trying to fix those serious issues that make the game unplayable like "wiggling limbs"?
Are you guys purposely trying to see how p,issed off you can make the PC gaming community?
Please keep in mind that without the PC gaming community there would be no Bioshock... beacause there wouldn't be the profits from a game that was widely supported called System Shock 2 to create it.
Thanks for nothing.

Dont quote me on this but.
I would imagine that the reason this 360 update has been compleated first is because it is a lot smaller. I understand that people are upset and are waiting for the PC patch. The PC patch probably will have to deal with a lot more issues and therefore be a lot larger and take longer to create and perfect.

That would mean that the PC Patch may take another Month at least to be done.

It's not ideal and I was annoyed to begin with but it could be a lot worse - after mistakenly buying splinter cell 4 and having to deal with Ubisofts complete lack of care, I realise things could be alot worse.
At least 2k are working on something and paying attention
PS I agree don't fix the PC's waggling limbs, theyre great.

Aye.
Wiggling limbs is one thing, what about the animation update rates on physics in genral (inc NPCS?) they feel so flaky and weak it really spoils things. If you could make them feel solid (PC) by uncapping their frame rates that would be a big help in making the game 'feel' as good as it's PC rivals.
Obviously there is a LOT more to patch too but as animations/physics was mentioned...
Don't fix the wiggling limbs on the pc, i love that ! :D
I agree. I think it added to the creepy quality of the characters...but it was almost comical at times too. My very first impression was that it was cool and eerie, and I stood over my first 'kill' watching for a while as it 'waved' and twitched :o
After playing the game a few times now, I still think it adds to the suspense as I see something move out of the corner of my eye...no...wait...its a splicer I shot 10 minutes ago! :D

It's true that the patches for the 360 were easier to create. But if you consider that every 360 patch has to be certified by Microsoft (which probably takes a week or two), and we're still seeing two 360 patches before we've even seen one PC patch . . . that kind of tells you something, doesn't it? Where 2K's priorities lie.
It was the same with the demo. News of the 360 demo plastered everywhere, while the PC demo was nowhere to be seen. Then 2K had to "apologize" for forgetting about the PC demo. Is it any wonder that we're getting upset at the continued second-class citizen treatment?

Maybe the xbox patches come out faster because creating and testing a patch for one hardware configuration is probably ALOT less involved than doing it for an infinite amount of configurations?

I thought wiggling limbs was a feature, not a bug.

Me too. I'm kind of sad to discover it's a bug. :(

Sorry for the double post. I downloaded the update this morning and played a little bit. I'm in the Apollo Square section of the game. I noticed some hitches and my game froze as I was trying to access the map screen. First time it has ever done that.

Windsong, I'm not so sure if you should be revealing something like that after having signed the NDA. I know people will be glad to know, nonetheless.

4 weeks from now no one's gonna care about the patch. There are far to many other GOOD games coming out now that will take priority in gamer's gaming time.
Of course, we still want one but they should have delayed the game and sorted it first.

Thanks for the great news Elizabeth;) ! I'll make sure to download this new update ASAP:D !
To everyone complaining about the lack of PC updates - I'm sure that 2k will release an update for you PC users before the end of the month. I know it sucks that they have not fixed the PC problems yet, but i'm sure their hard at work trying to fix the problems as we speak. I hope they can figure out how to fix the problems soon, as some people are probably getting frustrated and may give up on the game - which I hope they don't as Bioshock is a great game with a great story and is a game that, IMO, everyone should play at least once ... it's a great game to rent if you don't want to buy it (5 bucks to rent compared with 60 bucks to buy). Lol at my run-on sentence:p .

Saves me having to check back here every few now and then. So im grateful. If it is about a month away, it'll be the most useful bit of information ive taken away from this forum.
The lack of information is silly, not even an 'official' ETA for the patch. If its missed and people are left waiting a bit longer i don't think you could really get any more people annoyed than by the issues in the retail version anyway.
If they actually got more staff working on these patches, rather than almost certainly starting on other projects i would bet it wouldn't have taken this long.

bioshock is a great game but that pause n go really took away from a first rate game it should of been,it should not of happened in the fist place, where microsofts game quality review b4 shipping, and pc users should ask 4 there money back 4 retarted version of crashes.in saying that if they fix it soon its freggin awsome game

Same here. It definitely added to the whole scary atmosphere.
Now it feels somewhat lacking! :(
