I realsied that I had cracked my game while my nephew was here to make it easier for him to swap between games(no-scratches)I tried forever to get it working again but it kept acting funny and crashing.I reinstalled saving my save games and DIDNT use a no-dvd and the game hasnt crashed since.

This is something to check if you are using a no-dvd.Its too bad because the dvd that I bought looks very cheap and will likely not last long.I've already had it error while installing and it doenst look like there are any scrtches on it.

Use the revoke tool that was just released, run regedit and delete all keys for Bioshock and try to reinstall (careful you don't hose your system with regedit). You may have to remove the SecuRom keys as well. I agree with your fragile media plight - I would also like to keep my media away safe from accidental damage but unfortunately 2k requires it to be in the drive. We should understand that they're trying to make a buck and the REAL losses are what led to their business decision to require the media. Hopefully in a future patch they will remove that requirement but I wouldn't hold my breath. The irony of copy-protection is that the people who bought the game have to live with the annoyances while the pirates enjoy 'cracked' versions that don't require the media in the drive - so they eventually enjoy it more. I say eventually because it only takes one cracker to successfully defeat a protection and then ALL the pirates have it.
