I recently started a game (After the patch) and played for a good 3 hours and then when I loaded an autosave because I wanted to re-do a conquest of a city-state, my unhappiness shot up by 12 and I definitely had AT LEAST +1 happiness the whole time I was playing and after I loaded I was at - 11 Happiness. Please fix.

Could you please post you save game here? Then I can see if I can re-produce or what is happening.

That's why I suggested dropbox or a filesharing service. Then you can post the link here...

Just thought of something else. Do you have any mods loaded?
Please check to disable ALL mods and try again with a new game.
Thanks!

I'll load that up as soon as I'm home in about 5 hours.
Could you in the meantime post what the happiness scale is for you before saving and after saving?
Also... this is the very first autosave... It's more useful to post a save later on in the game, where you actually have a difference in happiness level before saving and after reloading. Please post the values here, so I can check those against my findings on loading the save.
Thanks!

whoops, thought the top one on the list was most previous. here you go...
oh and I know 100 % I had 0 to + 1 Happiness at that time. There was no way I would have engaged in a war with Unhappiness affecting my combat score.
I've even loaded all previous saved games before the last one, and the happiness was still weird at - 5 when I remember starting the game I was +4 I believe.

Hi there,
I'm suffering the Unhappiness bug too that came with the new patch. I had -1 hapiness yesterday and -43 today, and some civilizations were changed to anothers (babilonians were changed to danish,...). There may be more changes but I haven't tried playing it so I only found those. Its unplayable with that unhappines.
Please, somebody help all the desperate gamers that need a dose of CIV today! =)
Thanks

THe switching of civ's around is due to the patch and can't be fixed. Please start a new game without any mods and see if you also get more unhappiness after saving and reloading.

Besides from lag that I don't encounter in my own games, all likes ok. So whatever it is that caused the happiness to be +1 before was wrong. You have an occipied city and pupppetted city. And not nearly enough happiness to account for that.

I don't use any mods and don't want to start a new game either. I just want to keep playing my saved game, like I've been doing the past 2 months. I've dedicated a lot of time on it and would be very disapointed if the solution is to start all over again, and will probably switch to a more reliable game. I'm also sure many of other gamers will do the same if this issue isn't fixed soon. Sid Meier will be very unhappy too if this happens.

Well, 2K Greg announced that savegames could get messy with the new patch. A company doesn't issue such a warning if they expect to fix it. So I wouldn't count on the old savegames getting fixed, sorry :(

Ok, this is not an MMO, since you are not paying a monthly fee, thgreatening to quit, holds no sway.
Do you think they didnt EXPECT a portion of the playerbase to get hurt over this to the point of quitting? - They did.
They also weighed the positives, and like any business decision, came to the conclusion, that positive > negative, if they push forward.

Are you recomending me to quit the game? Why don't you open a new thread with a general recomendation for all of us with problems. Come on, you would be fired immediately if I were your boss, dude.
I'm also generous enough to give you a hint for life : THE CLIENT IS ALWAYS RIGHT

The client is very rarely right, but that's not the point.
QT isn't working for 2K or Firaxis. He is a forum-goer, just like you and me. And he is trying to help people here as good as he can. Something obviously isn't going the way 2K or Firaxis planned it. They warned us about saves going bad.
Please also search for the posts by BigDen. He actually works for Firaxis! And has a first step in the direction of fixing already posted. By disabling the core threading in the config file.

No, i'm informing you, that threatening to do so, doesn't gain you leverage.
And the client is not only NOT always right, they are RARELY right.
Oh, and if you were my customer, you would be fired.
