I wanted to post a thread where you can submit your written short stories...or stories written for this specific thread, haha. For the sake of being readable and not taking up much space, possibly try to keep them a bit short, haha. I just thought it'd be cool to see some of the writing talent around here. :D
Here's mine...I wrote this yesterday at my job when we clearly weren't doing anything productive. Don't expect much out of it, but I was bored, and it seemed like a good idea at the time.
Once upon a night in the woods of Woodstone, a bell tolled thrice times. Thrice times it chimed a chilling tune that rung throughout the boughs of the trees. This was significant...because thrice chiming meant only one thing. It meant Ladies' Night at the local Terrific Taco fast-food restaurant.
Children ran gleefully through the cobblestone streets with lamp-lights gloomily looming overhead with a dim glow. Squirrels daringly darted across while stagecoaches nearly crushed their tiny Terrific Taco-set minds.
The local blacksmith smelted his finest cutlery, complete with constructing fine redwood table-coasters.? The men's women prepared their finest dining-gowns and bibs, as they were rather hasty and careless during Ladies' Night.
The porta-potty cleaners stayed overtime, as they new their moment of payoff was almost nigh. The local marching band started tooting their horns, banging their drums, and didgeridooing their didgeridoos. The moment had arrived.
The townspeople of Woodstone arrived at the front gates of Terrific Taco, mouths agape with salivistic anticipation. The interior seemed unidentifiable, as the lights had not been switched in the "on" position. The townspeople grew antsy, and soon angry, and soon depressed...and soon confused. Terrific Taco always had its lights on when it was Ladies' Night.
Then, breaking the confusion, came more confusion. The bell tolled thrice more times. Thrice more times the bell chimed. The townsfolk turned to their right and saw a television in a shop window. It was playing a Taco Bell commercial on repeat.
The blacksmith pulled out his Blackberry and looked at his calendar. It was in fact, Tuesday, otherwise known as Taco Bell Commercial Night. They then went back to their cottages.
The End.
