Neptune's Bounty, The Medical Pavilion, Arcadia, Fort Frolic...and so on
These were all amazing locations within Rapture. Yes, Rapture was a city at the bottom of the ocean but it was able to contain areas significantly different from one another. And this got me thinking...
In the gameplay and announcement demos the open air seemed to be the consistent theme. Yes, we hopped in the bar with the changing picture and the guy with the shotgun...but quickly got back out of there. I doubt that I'm right, but perhaps the traditional "beating of one level to move onto the other" does not apply to Columbia/Bioshock Infinite? I'm sure that Booker will go and stay in the occasional building and fight some bad guys inside, but with the talk of fighting hordes of people from extreme distances prevelant, I don't believe that this "level beating" will occur that often.
As an example...in BS1, we beat Steinman in the Medical Pavilion, had a loading screen and then went on to Neptune's Bounty...beat that area, had another loading screen and then had to figure the Smuggler's Hideout...etc. and I just think that it'll be a "smoother" transition in Infinite, with the occasional break in action to save.
Am I wrong to think this? Others thoughts?
