View Full Version : Thinking of starting a gaming clan - Interested?

For some time I've been wanting to start a clan, and seeing as the Irrational Games forums seems to be populated largely by rather decent, mature folk, I could think of no better place to put the suggestion forward.

It wouldn't have to be for a specific game, though it would most likely be tailored towards the tastes of those who like BioShock and games of that ilk - seeing as that suits most people around here. And though I myself am currently only on Xbox Live, if there were enough people, I'm sure we could branch out onto multiple platforms.

Games I play online are:

BioShock 2

Monday Night Combat

Team Fortress 2

Fable II

Borderlands

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood (When it comes out)

Fable III (When it comes out)

Dungeon Defenders (When it comes out)

Obviously, we don't have to play only the games that I play, but I'm putting them out there just so interested parties have something to consider. I think it would be really great if we could get a decent portion of the Irrational Community active outside of the forums too, and I see not better way to do it than this.

So - anyone interested?

If I were not only part of an adult on-line gaming community, I would be interested. I've been with my "clan" for about 4 years now and I suspect I will be with them for many, many more years.

Unfortunately, I play on the PS3. I kind of have my own clan anyway. :)

Damn. Seems like most people on the forum are PSN gamers.

What clan is that, dannysal?

I'd be interested in playing with other forum members, probably don't play enough multi-player games that long to really belong to a clan. I do plan playing AC:Brotherhood and Fable 3, still need to get the Bioshock 2 metro d/c achievements so will be playing that, working on Red Dead Redemption then probably check out that multiplayer. Next year Portal 2 and Brink stand out off the top of my head of multiplayer games I'd want to play. Gamertag is Feionious

I'll add you when I'm online next, Felonius. I like the look of Portal 2 and Brink, too. Have you heard anything about Dungeon Defenders at all yet? It's not been getting much coverage, which is a shame because it looks like it's going to be a brilliant game.

I help start a Killzone 2 clan cause they have a nice clan leaderboard/tournament thing. I wish they were more mature...and not so notorious on the PS forums...and the clan system is full of cheaters and broken...3 people active on our forums...bad times...

When Bioshock 2 came out I joined this clan called The Cult of Rapture. We were supposed to get a party going, chat it up, and have some fun. I added over 50 people to my list. I could not get a single one of them to play a private match together. bad times...

So then I tried to get some gamebattles going, but Bioshock 2 was not too well suited for gamebattles. So it has me thinking...if the game doesn't have some type of clan support, it's better to just add like-minded people to your list, and leave it at that.

Good luck and hope it turns out well.

I tried to join a couple of clans in the run-up to BioShock 2's release so that I could have a good few people to play with. Not many people I know play Xbox, and those that do don't tend to venture beyond Call of Duty. Those clans were hellish because they were mostly guys that couldn't have even bought the game on their own. Probably didn't have 50 years between them.

All I know is that it's set for a November release. There isn't an exact date posted anywhere. I'm following Trendy Entertainment on Twitter now, so I imagine they'll post a date soonish.
