i really want to play Duke Nukem. I bought the game April 12th from game stop, when i get home i go to install the game but can not because it did not have a cd key. I contact tech support on the 13th of April, today is May 7th i have called 3 times and sent several email and i have not heard back from the. On my tech support page it says "This request is currently being processed by our staff". I do not think i will ever get to play the game.

Hey Deabystupidity,
Try sending an email to 2KElizabeth@2kgames.com along with the number of your support post, stating the same issue that you have here. She might be able to look in to why it's taking so long to get a response.

Good luck with that. Last time I tried to contact support through their official channels, I never once received a response. While I did receive a response from E., it was worthless and nothing but passing the buck...
Done buying anything 2k has a hand in.

I don't know if I've received your specific email, but in case you haven't sent it (or sent a ticket to support) please do - our support team is brand spanking new, so I think you'll be happy with the experience!

i did send you an email but i guess it was over looked, I understand about having a new support team but when i call and they tell my that my ticket will be taken care of soon or that a supervisor is reviewing it and i still do not hear anything from support for over a month it tells me that new or not the support team could care less if they help a customer. Every time i called it seems like the tech was saying anything they could to make me just go away. I feel like once 2K got my money they could care less about issues I am having. Up until last month i was looking forward to several of 2K's new games coming out but now i think it will be a long time if ever i buy another 2k game. Sense my email was not seen here is my ticket number #91538 i will also send it to you in a private message on here.

Still no answer I sent 2KElizabeth multiple messages and i guess she is ignoring the problem too. New tech support does not explain why 2KElizabeth wanted me to email and message her just to be ignored AGAIN.Thank you 2K again for proving that you do not care about your customers.

Liz just left her job at 2k over the weekend (forums.2kgames.com/showthread.php?122958-My-last-day-at-2K-(but-far-from-my-last-day-on-the-forums!)). I'm actually unsure as to who you could contact now for assistance. The only idea I would have is to get in contact with Gearbox Software (http://forums.gearboxsoftware.com/), who actually did the coding on the game.

Just curious...
Why did you not return the game to GameStop and ask them to exchange it? It's always much easier to deal with a retailer in person to resolve a problem IMO, they will be able to see the key is missing........

I was wondering that also, especially if it was missing the CD-Key. My first instinct would be to return it for one with a CD-Key.

Well on Gearbox they do list 2k as the initial support contact; however, they also state that you can contact them if there are any issues. That would be my next step making it clear you have not received a response from 2k support.

Sorry about the problems you are having.

 surely that only applies to something that was fit for purpose, they (the shop) sold you a game without a key, demand a refund and buy it somewhere else.
Is consumer law in the US really that bad??

No its not, while they will not let you "return" the game I have never had any retailer deny me a new copy of the same game in exchange. I know this may vary but it certainly seems odd especially from Gamestop. If anything you could contact Gamestop corporate as even franchise owners have to abide to some corporate regulations.

it was the only copy they had, my only other choice was to pay more money and buy a download of the game.

If it's a screw up like that most big retailers will order you in another copy from one of their other local stores and get it for you. You just have to ask them to do it.

Plenty of shops in the uk do anything they can to avoid giving refunds when you are entitled to one, take it back and demands a refund, buy it somewhere else or on steam, makes no sense to let it drag on this long when it's the shop at fault.

Hey, it only took about two months... I guess the support staff are improving...
I NEVER received a response from support on the last 2k game I purchased, just some passing the buck from E. (who took my PM advice and abandoned ship). I ended up getting a refund from the distributor and refuse to purchase anything else 2K has their hands into.
