Sander Cohen was a serial killer. *Small spoiler*

After playing through the game you come across an assortment of villians/splicers. Many of them are madmen, or psychotic. Many of them willing to murder impulsively for their ideals...Sander Cohen was different than the other splicers. He did not murder people for ADAM, and he did not murder them out of any high ideal (other than his claim of artistry). He killed simply for the pleasure of it, to make his victims suffer, to coat them plaster and allow them to suffocate to death. His glee in the death and suffering of the people of Fort Frolic, is different than every other splicer in the game. Sander Cohen was a socially elite splicer/serial killer. His kills and victimizations were done solely for pleasure, not for any greed/desperation for ADAM.

Was Sander Cohen especially insane? What do you guys think, does he fit into the profile of a serial killer? :)

To be a serial killer you have to kill them in practically the same way... and his last 3 victims were all by your hand anyway

whats the harm with putting dead ppl in plaster cast? kinda like what egyptians did but that was papyrus and wool i think?

Each victim was artfully posed. Each victim's face was covered in a bunny mask (maybe a couple other mask types?). Each victim was killed with the deliberate intent to plaster them and turn them into "macabre art". Most serial killers have a vision of grand purpose, and I believe Sander Cohen fits the bill.

Look closely at those statues. They have blood going down from under their heads. So it seems that Cohen cutted throats of his victims before plastering them completly.

Fontaine/Atlas would be more like Manson when it comes to getting people to kill for him. But a bit different.

A Real life killer had used wax instead of plaster, the killer was found out after a while due to the "wax figures" started to warp and generally get messed up in such a way that it exposed the corpse underneath. Dunno about a killer using plaster though, I would not be surprised if there was one.

Then there are the killers that put people inside buildings walls,floors, ect. Killers who turned people into objects like lamps,ashtrays,gloves ect.
Killers who ate people. Lots of other bad things.

So.. to be honest, yes hes a bit out there, but not the worst one.

Awh come on.. Charles Manson is better by far :p Heck, when no guard is even allowed to be around him for 30 min or more.. and no other inmates are allowed out when he is.. kinda tells you something. ( Hes caused lots of people's deaths even in prison. Guards, other inmates, people he sent messages to when he used to be allowed to do that )

Considering these messages where innocent in the way they where worded.. hehe tells you something I think.

I would consider Jeffery closer to Albert Fisk. Hes the guy that ate little kids and some grown adults as well. He was a Old man and was still doing it before he was finally caught. ( Think his last victim was a little girl, when originally he was going to go after a 18 year old male that lived in the place till he seen her )

LOL. Your favorite....? Although they can be interesting, its really hard to say "oh that serial killer is my FAVORITE!"

I think of your looking for the creepiest most interesting case study...go for Ed Gein. He is the real world person that inspired most of the most well known horror movie killers.

I wouldn't say worse, Gein was way more Macarbe. But you are right, Gacy was probably the scariest of the lot, by far actually. I just don't like to think about him, because of how creepy he is!

i still think bundy and dahmer are the worst of the worst seriously sick people so glad they got executed shame it wasnt slow and painfull

i hope we see more characters like steinmen and cohen in bioshock 2 they add a bit of macarbe comedy to the game especially cohens poem abiut the bunny wtf??

Bundy had an enormous body count, and Dahmer was extremely twisted...but Gacy? Its psychologically disturbing just to read his biography, in fact I would advise against it! :eek:

Apart from being the most awsome character in the game imo, yeah, I think he fits the bill.

Other than yourself he seems to be the only one trying to rid rapture of the splicers.

Good or bad.

He may have a verry mecrabre way of presenting the dead.

But ask yourself would they have really lived that rich a life had he not intervined.

At least he made them into pleasing art.

Personally, I have always found Steinman much more interesting than Cohen. With Cohen, you really find out about his past and what he did, but with Steinman, I think there could be much more information about the guy that was said in the dairies. The "Not what she wanted" dairy really did divulge how insane Steinman was, but I would like to know how we used Adam to sculpt his patients. I would also like to know what he meant by "She cuts me into a thousand beautiful pieces." I would also like to find out how Stienman reacted to Diane's facial problem after the attack in the Kashmir restaurant.

Yeah, self defense would be a better term for it. But Cohen does some extraordinary art. I LOVE those plastered bodies. :D Specially in his room. It was awesome. We might kill with style too, but never in artform. ;)

I'd say that Cohen is definately a serial killer. Serial Killer = Person that kill a lot of other persons.

I would say that his art, his ideal, is more important to him than any pleasure he gets from killing people, even though they are often the same.

I always thought figured that Cohen probably just used bodies that he found. Since he sends you to kill his deciples and doesn't do it himself shows that he seems to prefer an indirect approach or not kill people himself.

You know most of those painted people are quite alive. Most of them seem to be dancers such as the scary chicks in the mall that do ballet posest they even work with Cohen! They could just be a part of Cohen's tests of you. ;)
