So, the SecuROM thread is gigantic. Huge. Amazingly vast. Lots of customers are pissed at 2K's shenanigans. But they haven't told us much of anything. My question is this, where has 2K gone? Have they seriously just taken our money and ran? Do they seriously care about 2,000 some odd customers this little? Why no updates?

They're working on patches and updates. A mod will probably be along shortly to lock this.

Before they do though, here is an amazingly handy post made by 2K Elizabeth yesterday...

Since 2000 customers represent 0.5% of the people that have already bought the game, I would say the answer is... not really. SecuROM has added millions to the 2kgames coffers. It has been a success. A few whiners... big deal.

If you have a valid complaint, take it up with customer services.

You DO know that bioshock was cracked about half an hour after it started selling in the stores, right? possibly before, with the demo?

As soon as its cracked, that argument carries no weight.. people who have no desire to pay for it will not pay for it, people who do, will.

The only difference now is that a LOT less people do, when they hear of the hassle and trouble this DRM crap is gonna give them, if not right now, then a year from now when they can't reinstall the game.

End result --- many people are actually posting proudly about having a cracked version of bioshock, and the reason they state for doing that when it was a game they were quite ready to pay their hard earned money for, is the copy protection scheme.

Some of the money probably have gone to to the Irrational Team for developing the game. Some are probably being used to pay for this forum, the tech help, and yes, Elisabeth's salary ;) Ads & PR ain't cheap either...

i updates about 2 weeks ago that we upped the activations to 5 computers, 5 times. we are still working on the uninstall tool and i'll post here and on the cult as soon as it's done!

i'm closing this thread to keep down on spam. i know the securom thread is huge -- i might close it down and make a new one. :-)
