Just curious what you guys think (it's a slow day on forums right now). I think I would go for Guild Wars.
If your a PvP'er - GW
If you're a PvE'er - Hellgate: London
Stay away from WoW...
I used to play GW PvP religiously but they screwed it up. And with rank and such, you won't get into a decent group if you start GW now.
I'm gona get Hellgate when it comes out even though I prefer PvP. Looks amazing.

WoW is much better but Guild Wars is a much more modest game and for that I like it nearly as much. I'm looking forward to GW2 very much.

What he said. Hellgate wins, hands down. But I voted Guild wars, only because I played for about a month. And it's free!!! :cool:

I tried it. Didn't like it.
Basically once you've played WoW, all other MMO's will pale in comparison for one reason and one reason only: WoW is tight.
Tight meaning it's extremely well done, and VERY polished. The controls and GUI are very intuitive.
I'd played maybe 5 MMO's before I played WoW. I was putting off joining for as long as possible (only played for about 6 months over a year ago), but there's a reason it's the most popular MMORPG on the market. A subscription fee is just one of the facts of life if you want a decent MMO, so don't go pullin that "GW is free" crap; because it's a fact that there are downsides to that.

did anyone ehre ever get into Runescape at a pint or are still into it. i played it like 2 years before school actually started geting hard and i coulda been using membersip money for otherstuf. i love the freedom in that game. the character cutomization... the communication with other players. members world was hardcore. i would still get on everynow and then if i was a member and had all my old stuff back ( i sold it all before my membership ended) :(

Player vs... EVERYONE!!! I guess. I think PvM is monster. PvP is obviously Player vs Player. Dunno, not an RPG/especially not MMO type guy! :cool:

Oh... Well I guess it helps with learning about different types of Ficton.
Man vs Self games out yet? I guess BioShock might actually hit a bit on that.

I think the fact that you have to pay to play WoW and it still has way more players speaks for itself
I tried guild wars before I got in to WoW and thought it was ok. I also never liked the fact that outside of cities its just u and your party, just makes it feel like much less of an MMORPG. The lack of professions also hurts it.
When I got in to WoW I just havnt been able to play GW anymore, despite its hugely superior graphics.
I know GW has its own +'s over WoW... but not enough to make it a solid contender, like Rocky.
World of Warcraft!! There is a reason it is the best and you can only play to know. It's all about the experience and it's an addiction.

Correction: Guild Wars has no Sub fee, theres a diff.
And tbh, it shows.
GW is a shoddily designed game.
WoW has gotten pretty bad in recent months to ..
... And Hellgate seems like such a sell-out now theres a "Premium" package and a "You Suck in Comparison" option.

yah, runescape... i been there. i spent sooo many hours playing that freaking game, its painful to think on it.... oh the mining... the endless mining!!! 3.8 mil mining xp and 35xp per iron ore...
I dont recommend it. It'll suck you in deep (if you can get past the hideous graphics).

Ive played both GW and WoW and i enjoyed both tbh, i loved my necromancer on GW and my lock on WoW. Played WoW more than GW but only because at the time i was so engrossed with it....must get epixxxx!! But as with most on-line games, the shear amount of idiots and kids ruined the experience and i just couldnt be arsed with either anymore.

Exactly! It's becomes like $15 per month chat room with a cool avatar.
Whoever says GW blows:
It's PvE blows correct.
But it's PvP is without a doubt one of the best PvP experiences in any MMO....or used to be. Balanced, skillfull and downright fun. Again used to be lol.
But GvG (Guild vs Guild) was still the best PvP I've ever experienced. Even better than FPS PvP. When you win a Guild match, it feels great. Especially if it went on for a while against a higher ranked Guild.

I got into GW first and it was fun while it lasted, and far better for PvP than WoW.
WoW on the other had was good but quickly turned into more of a vice than a game. The best thing I did was cancel my account; and now that Blizzard are showing their complete contempt for subscribers by bringing out expansion packs (which have ruined the value of previously high-end gear by upping the level cap), I'm even happier.
At GAMESCom 2010 we had to chance to see a one hour presentation of the GW. Guild Wars 2’s world is definetaly a world built to explore. Missions are dynamically generated in the world, from an attack, where you join the defense of small farm, to a giant dragon attack.
