SSL issue Facebook Civ

It "may "be an issue of the processing power of the "local machine" however if I leave Facebook to play civ game in SSL things proceed extremely slow and game doesn't fully load. If I turn off SSL things work reasonably well. I notice most games accessed through Facebook turn off SSL before one proceeds to the game. It would be a useful function for Civ as well. Just passing an issue I see regularly. I am wondering if others see this issue?
