Hi

Since downloading the last patch and purchasing the latest DLC my computer shuts down and restarts every 10 mins or so whilst in game in CIV 5. I have never experienced any crash problems since purchasing CIV 5 it has only started since i got the last patch or DLC (not sure which or why).

I just get a black screen then my computer just restarts. This doesnt specifically happen when ending turn it happens every 10-15 mins regardless. This happens the same on DX9 or DX11 and when am not using MODS.

I noticed someone else on the forum post the same problem a month or so back but I couldnt see any resolution.

Please could someone help.

This is the error message I receive in Windows when my computer loads back up if this helps,

I registered an account today just to report this same problem. Only recently when running Civ V, the computer just shuts down. No message and it happens every time I try to play. I did not purchase the DLC. I'm using Windows 7 Home on an 64 bit Intel7 desktop. It's always worked fine before now.

I think it might be somthing from the steam client that is constantly trying to shove advertisements in my face. And it trys to update itself when off line. What happened to the good old days when you could buy a game and play it in peace instead of forcing you to be connected to the internet so you can be spammed with advertisements?

MarkEV...have you had any luck fixing this problem? I had a similar problem after the first patch...played fine then the first patch installed and it started crashing. If you find a solution, please post it so others might benefit.

I had to have someone come and fix my computer. I think the problem was with my hardware/graphics drivers. I think CIV 5 just triggers the restart due to the memory etc needed to run it. Im currently reinstalling CIV 5 now after having someone restore my computer pretty much back to factory settings. He said it should work fine now so will see......
