In my personal opinion, while playing through the game, Atlas was a lot scarier when he had on the Irish accent. I mean, come on. Irish people are about the scariest people you can ever possibly piss off due to delayed-aggressive tendencies. I mean, movies like Death To Smoochy illustrate really well why Irish people are to be feared. Long before the Italians came around, the Irish were the ones who ran organized crime. Now, I'm not saying that all Irish are like that, just saying that those who are are a lot scarier than some thug from New Jersey. Am I right?
To quote subculture: "If I find out yer lyin' to me, boyo, I'll come back here and cut your f---ing eyes out."

I found him quite scary after the whole submarine thing.
Why? He just supposedly lost family.
I wonder, was that actually Fontaine running around down near the submarine? It couldn't have been...

It was. Same character graphic as the start of Point Prometheus.

But we, technically saw him get pushed back by the explosion and the splicers were attacking. I wonder how he escaped. Or do the splicers not attack Fontaine, and it was all an act? I think I'm missing part of the story.

I'm Irish and I love Atlas. Props to 2K on having a real irish accent in there.
I didn't find him scary at all. I felt like at the point in time he cared about the well-being of his family and Jack. His accent was quality.

Never found him scary,I actually enjoyed the little things he would say here and there, plus accents are pretty kool in my book.

I really liked him, till I found the truth, then I was all "I don't care if you're sobbing over the recovered bodies of your dead family when I get there, you're getting a Machine gun to the Stomach.

Was nice to have a fresh character. No problem with keeping him Irish, and realistically a shame to have him turn into a generic american-accent wielding megalomaniac character (performance-wise, if not necessarily with regard to character).

I like the Cultural Diversity they showed with Tennebaum, 3rd-person-Suchong (thats my nickname for him) and Atlas, it would've been nice to see a British character though.

I think it Atlas was brilliant right up to the point he gets that cheesy gangster accent.
The part where he starts cackling at you after you save Rapture is downright freaky.
Fontaine sucked as a villain. I wish he had just kept the irish accent.

i thought he was neat. Although he slightly terrified me when he yelled about wanting to tear Ryan "bleeding heart" out.

MAJOR SPOILERS
I don't think Atlas was scary at all. He was more believable and in my opionion a better character than Fonatine, but I do like that Fontaine kept the same intelligence as Atlas. Lesser games would have made it more as if Atlas and Fontaine were completely separate entities; having none of the same mannerisms.
At the Olympus Heights orphanage, I really liked the AD when Diane walks in on Atlas when he's in Fontaine voice.
-------------
What I wish they had done was make Atlas another person, and worked the story around, it seemed cheap to make him Fontaine. Plus, I REALLY loved his Irish accent and absolutely hated Fontaine's.

Alright Relic in the title it warns the readers of spoilers so you dont need to cover them....
Anyway i like Atlas through the game. I always like when he would say some stuff to me, espiecially in Neptune's Bounty. After that he was all kill Ryan and stuff and he just wasnt the Atlas i liked anymore.
As for him turning into Fontaine i thought it was a nice twist but i still wanted there to be an Atlas to guide me. I mean we had Tennebaum but hey, through my Bioshock experiance i just somehow got attactched to Atlas....
