View Full Version : Easy changes that would make MP much better

Disclaimer. I'm assuming these would be easy changes but I have no idea how the game is coded so some may be harder then others.


1) Allow us to pick what map types we want. IE If we want Earth let us pick EARTH . Not do Continents games over and over till we randomly get Earth.

2) Add an option to handle where players start. IE Spread out players or Group up players. Some people like to start far away others like to start close. Some want to be on the same continent tohers don't.

3) Add the Terra/Colonial map type! So much fun to all start on one cont then expand.

4) Let us add more AI to a game. Some of us don't mind if it takes 2-3 min in between turns.

5) Fix the AI Pathfinding. We've noticed that the reason the AI takes so long is they have huge amounts of units that they appear to just shift around doing nothing with. When I killed Caesars armies after he attacked in our game (not touch his building just his units) the entire game sped up to about 45-50s in between turns so clearly Caesar was just moving them around stupidly or thinking about it.

6) Fix the City State bug! This is huge! City states will start with 3-5 (i've seen up to 7) settlers in the same area. Only a few can found because the others are within 2 squares of a city. This means that they just stand their with their settlers until someone captures them for a free worker or a barb gets them. This is on Large/Huge maps so there should be plenty of room..


Obviously add the capability for mods but I'm sure if that was easy it would have been done already. I'll add more as I think of them.

Loving all these ideas.. though.. make it playable first plz ._.
